Birthday Without Friends

How do you celebrate a birthday when birthday parties have been essentially outlawed? If you have a birthday in 2020 and want to hang out with your friends right now without risking public shaming, your options are limited.

You could bake your own cake, then send pieces to your friends via FedEx and host a Zoom to watch each other eat it (yah!). Or (locally at least), EMS has been doing drive-bys with lights and sirens singing happy birthday over their loudspeakers (bless 'em).

Enter Virtual birthday parties (yes, this is now a thing). We thought, 'why not set up a birthday themed trivia game and offer it to the public?' Triviography Birthday can set up a trivia game all about that special person, then plot a GPS course (guided by smartphones) with questions programmed to trigger at any location you choose. It's thoughtful and personal
Questions are all about the birthday boy/girl because you make the questions (with some help from our form builder). You also get to upload lots of selfies of your friends and family playing the game that you can keep and post on your social media. If you're the type, you can also send other players snarky messages during play.

Especially if you get your friends to each submit one question, the game will be built in no time. You get the credit for the great idea and they do all the work.

It's a COVID-friendly activity
(I don't know about you but I am about done with hearing 'social distancing responsible activity' or however you say it). You can play without getting with a 10-foot pole's distance of anyone. Triviography Wedding Game

Building the trivia questions for Triviography is really intruguing work. I never know what I will find when I start researching a new topic. I find that one good question often leads to many more questions. For example, the other day when I was researching questions for our new Wedding-Themed Triviography Game, I came upon the topic of famous weddings in history. Elizabeth Taylor's name came up of course, having been married eight different times (spoiler alert). I found so many interesting and even unbelievable stories regarding her life that it was difficult to pare down the questions to just one or two. An Elizabeth Taylor game may be in the works down the road!

The game is designed to be interactive, challenging, playful and fun, and I hope that it will help families to celebrate their special occasion, bringing family, friends and guests together. Check it out!
